Cocoon Christmas Day
Cocoon Christmas Day is our annual celebration for care-experienced young adults aged 18–25, ensuring that no one in our community has to spend Christmas alone if they don’t want to. Each year, we welcome fifty guests from Hounslow, Kingston, and Richmond to enjoy a chef-prepared Christmas dinner, gift bags filled with high-quality presents, festive entertainment, pampering, and all the holiday trimmings.
This special day is made possible through the generosity and support of our community.
Discover how we bring it all together and make Christmas unforgettable for these young adults.

We combat the isolation many care leavers face by fostering genuine human connection — creating a sense of belonging that’s essential to well-being.

Approachability
We’re welcoming and open to new ideas, building trust and strong relationships with young adults, their networks, and the community.

What We Do
We support care-experienced young adults across Richmond, Kingston, and Hounslow as they build independent, fulfilling lives after care.
Our work focuses on improving day-to-day living, easing emotional and financial pressures, and helping them feel less isolated and more hopeful about the future.
From small everyday tasks to life-changing support, our incredible volunteers offer both short- and long-term help. Whether it's filling in forms, navigating housing or finance issues, DIY and decorating, attending appointments, or connecting with vital services—everything we do is rooted in compassion, consistency, and respect.
We also remove financial barriers to having a good standard of living, pursing education and career goals and being able to actively participate in society. Because nothing should stand in the way of a young person’s growth, goals, and joy.
01
Alleviate hardship
by helping to bridge the gap between young people's income and the real costs of setting up home, studying, working, or joining everyday social activities. Support includes providing home essentials, removing financial barriers to education, skills and career development opportunities and otherwise unaffordable needs. We also support young parents to get what they need for their children.
02
Provide practical assistance
with tasks young people are finding challenging on their own and which most other young people would turn to their family network for support . Challenges such as completing forms, liaising with social care, housing and utility companies, dealing with debt, accessing additional services to support their health and wellbeing, accompanying to appointments, assembling furniture and making home improvements.
03
Host social events
to reduce isolation and facilitate new connections including our flagship event on Christmas Day for 50 young people who would otherwise spend the day alone. Our regular social events have proved to be excellent opportunities for care leavers to form connections with each other and our volunteers and have led to sustained, long-term involvement.
